Terms and Conditions — St. Tropez Luxury Car

sainttropezluxurycarrental.fr is operated under the brand St. Tropez Luxury Car, offering luxury and sports car rental, wedding car hire and airport delivery in and around Saint-Tropez. These terms apply to every rental arranged through the website, by email, by phone or by WhatsApp. By confirming a booking with us, the main driver and, where relevant, any additional driver named on the quote accept these terms in full. A booking does not happen automatically when you submit the enquiry form or send a message. You tell us the car you are interested in, your pick-up and drop-off dates, and any other detail useful to prepare an offer, such as a flight number for airport delivery. We reply with a written quote stating the car, dates, price and conditions that apply to your request. The rental is only confirmed once you have accepted that quote in writing, whether by email, WhatsApp message or any other written confirmation we both agree on. Until that written confirmation is given, no vehicle is held for you and no price is guaranteed.

Day rates start from €210 and vary according to the car, the season and the length of the rental; the exact price for your dates is set out in the written quote, not on the vehicle listing page. Unless your quote states otherwise, the price includes the vehicle for the agreed dates, 200 km of driving per day, and the insurance described in the quote. It does not include fuel, extra kilometres, tolls, fines, parking charges, or any option such as a specific delivery location, additional driver or child seat, which are priced separately when requested.

No payment is taken on the website itself. Once you accept a written quote, payment is arranged directly with our team by the means agreed at that stage. In addition to the rental price, a refundable security deposit is held on a credit card in the main driver's name, ranging from €1,500 to €250,000 depending on the car. The deposit is not a charge: it is a hold intended to cover any damage, missing fuel, unpaid fines or tolls, or breach of these terms, and it is released after the car has been returned and once fines and tolls relating to the rental have been checked.

Because this is a leisure service booked for specific dates rather than general goods delivered to your door, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to car rental bookings. This exclusion follows directly from Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU and, in French law, from Article L221-28 of the Consumer Code, both of which exclude leisure services supplied on a specific date or period from the withdrawal right. In place of that statutory right, we offer a clear voluntary cancellation policy: cancellation is free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental. If you cancel after that point, the first rental day is charged in full. Requests to change dates or swap vehicles are handled on a best-efforts basis and may result in a revised quote if availability or pricing has changed.

We may need to cancel or postpone a confirmed rental where the vehicle cannot safely or lawfully be provided, for instance because of severe weather, a genuine safety or technical issue affecting the car, or an event of force majeure beyond our reasonable control. In such cases we will tell you as soon as we are aware of the issue, offer an alternative car or date where one is available, and refund any sums already paid for the rental if no suitable alternative can be agreed. We do not cancel for commercial convenience once a booking has been confirmed in writing.

Every driver must be at least 25 years old and hold a driving licence for at least 3 years, whatever car is booked. At handover, the main driver must present a valid driving licence, a passport or national identity card, and a credit card in their own name for the security deposit. Holders of a non-EU licence may be asked to present an International Driving Permit alongside their national licence. A booking cannot proceed, and no vehicle will be released, if these conditions are not met on the day.

The car is checked together with the main driver at handover and at return, noting its condition, fuel level and mileage. 200 km per day are included in the price; kilometres driven beyond that allowance are charged at the rate stated in your quote. The car must be returned with the same fuel level as at handover; if fuel is missing, we charge the fuel at cost plus a refuelling service fee. Returning the car later than the agreed time, without prior written agreement, may be treated as an extension of the rental and charged accordingly.

Traffic fines, tolls and parking charges incurred during the rental are the renter's responsibility. Where we receive or pay such charges on your behalf, they are passed on to you together with an administrative fee. Insurance cover is included as described in your quote; it does not remove the renter's responsibility, and in the event of at-fault damage the renter remains liable for the excess amount set out in the quote. The security deposit may be used to cover fines, tolls, missing fuel or damage established at return, with any balance released once those checks are complete.

Our cars may not be driven abroad, used on a track day, or taken off-road without our prior written approval. Smoking and pets are not allowed inside any vehicle. Any use outside these terms, including unauthorised drivers, reckless driving or use for an unlawful purpose, ends our liability for the vehicle and may result in the loss of the security deposit and recovery of any resulting cost. Beyond the insurance and deposit arrangements described above, our liability towards the renter is limited to the price paid for the rental concerned, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence on our part.

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent French courts. We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law; the version published on the website at the time a quote is accepted applies to that booking.
